THIS is the shocking moment a mum-of-five drives over a security guard’s foot in ASDA – leaving her with a broken ankle.

Roxanne Dale erupted into a furious rage outside the supermarket giant in Wallsend, North Tyneside, back in February.

Horrified onlookers watched in shock as the 36-year-old rammed another vehicle with her car during the road rage spree.

Footage then shows a staff member try to de-escalate the dramatic ordeal but Dale knocked her down and ran over her foot.

Newcastle Crown Court has now heard the defendant was on her way to collect her son when the chaos unfolded.

The disturbing clip shows the mum-of-five flee the scene while members of the public rush to help the Asda worker.

Dale was slapped with a three-year and three-month jail sentence for three years and three months behind bars. She appeared for sentence on July 31.

Judge Gavin Doig told her: “The offences arise from an incident on the 8th of February this year. I have watched the CCTV footage of that incident.

“You attended the ASDA car park in Wallsend. There was clearly an altercation.

“The altercation outside came to the attention of the security. (The victim) had no idea she was to suffer the injury she was about to at your hands.

“You arrived in your Audi, you drove your vehicle into another vehicle. Fortunately it didn’t cause damage to that car or anyone inside or around it.

“You then reversed and drove towards a group of people who were on the road.”

The footage showed the victim being struck to the ground before having her foot driven over by Dale, who then fled the scene having retrieved her son.

The security guard was seriously injured and required surgery to treat her broken ankle.

In a victim impact statement, she told the court she needed metal plates fitted and 14 screws.

Addressing Dale, she said: “I could never have imagined how my life could change that day.

“What started as a completely normal day for me turned into a nightmare and months of pain.

“I wake up every day in pain.

“Then there’s the emotional and mental part. This has affected me everywhere I go.

“I find it hard to be in a car when others are too close or break too hard. I’m also triggered by loud cars.

“I’m now frightened and scared that I will get hurt again and that is because of you.”

The court heard she has also been diagnosed with PTSD.

Dale, of Lambourne Avenue, Longbenton, North Tyneside, who had one conviction as a juvenile, pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving, dangerous driving, and failing to stop after an accident.

She was also banned from driving for three years following her release from custody.

Penny Hall, mitigating, said: “Prior to her attendance at the car park she had received a rather panicked call from her son. She was worried as to what might be going to happen to him.

“She wanted to make sure he was safe and bring him home.

“When she got to the ASDA car park there were people surrounding him.

“She did not go there intending to cause harm to anyone. She accepts she did cause harm and injury to the complainant for which she is remorseful. She is sorry it happened and asked that I express that.

“That was clearly not her intention but she accepts by driving in the way she did when she arrived that’s what happened.

“She has five children ranging from ages young up until teenagers.

“She has been in custody since her arrest which is now almost six months. She doesn’t intend to move back to the area she was before.”
