Speaking at a program with ET, Meity Secretary S Krishnan said that when we talk about the mobile operating system in India, its chipset will play an important role. For this, the design-linked incentive scheme with the central government's self-reliant India and India semiconductor mission has made significant contributions. In this year's budget, the government has focused on semiconductors.
Increase the budget 83%
In this year's budget, the government has increased the amount for this mission by 83 percent. The government has allocated a budget of Rs 7,000 crore for semiconductor mission in India. While the budget of the production linked Initiative Scheme increased by 55 % to Rs 9,000 crore. China's semiconductor budget, on the other hand, is about $ 47 billion, or Rs 4 lakh crore. Semiconductors will also play an important role in the development of AI in India. AI apps will be encouraged with the help of semiconductors. AI will be widely used in the future.
