Umargam: On a clear day in Sarigam, a person named Salim was attacked by four people and hit with a base ball stick. According to the information received from police sources, Akash Sureshbhai Thakur, resident of Karajgam, Umargam taluk, lodged a police complaint that on Sunday afternoon, his friend Salim Shaikh (Rest. Sai Complex, Anmol Nagar Bhilad) alias Jainit alias Jainit, in an old enmity on the public road in front of Sawaria Hotel near Sarigam Canal on Sarigam Canal. Jimmy Dahyabhai Mistry (resident of Sarigam), Meraj alias Guddu Kudrat Khan, Niaz Chand Mohammad Manihar (both resident of Vapi Town) and an unidentified person attacked and rammed the car.
These people got together and insulted Salim and beat him with a base ball stick and an iron rod on his legs, fracturing both his legs and causing serious injuries and ran away. The injured Salim was initially admitted to Government Hospital in Bhilad and from there to Ayushya Hospital in Vapi for further treatment. Akash Thakur filed a complaint in the Bhilad police station and the police registered a case and conducted further investigation.
