In recent times, many children have died due to cough medicine. The WHO issued a statement saying that more than 300 children under the age of five have died in Zambia, Indonesia, Uzbekistan. His cause of death was kidney failure and was related to contaminated medication. The World Health Organization has appealed to all its 194 member countries to take action against contaminated drugs in their countries to prevent more such deaths. All member countries should provide for testing according to international standards at drug manufacturing sites in their respective countries.
