Rajkot famous ENT surgeon Dr. Himanshu Jagdishchandra Thakkar has created a historic hat-trick by registering three records in the Limca Book of Records.
Dr. Himanshu Thakkar is among the very few doctors in India who have registered three separate records in the Limca Book of Records, a rare achievement. This achievement is a matter of pride not only for the city of Rajkot but for the entire Gujarat.
He set two important records in the “Medical Marvels” section of the Limca Book of Records 2026.
In the first record, the largest nasal polyp measuring 10 cm × 3.5 cm × 1 cm was successfully removed endoscopically from the nose of a 47-year-old patient from Rajkot.
Another record was the removal of the largest foreign body stuck in the trachea. This was a chiku seed measuring 2 cm × 1 cm, which had been lodged in the trachea of a 55-year-old female patient for about two months.
Earlier, in the Limca Book of Records 2025, Dr. Thakkar received a record for the complete endoscopic surgical removal of a large nasal polyp measuring 8 cm × 2.5 cm from the nose of a 55-year-old male patient from Rajkot without any complications.
Besides that, in the year 2023 Dr. Himanshu Thakkar also created a record in the India Book of Records. He endoscopically removed a plastic whistle from the trachea of a 10-year-old child, which had been trapped for the past 7 years. The child was a resident of Matana village, Sutrapada taluk.
All surgeries were successfully performed with modern endoscopic techniques, without any complications, Dr. Reveals Thakkar's prodigious surgical skills and experience.
